Narotam Sekhsaria Scholarships

Mr. Narotam Sekhsaria is a famous philanthropist, industrialist, and entrepreneur who laid the foundation of a not-for-profit organization – Narotam Sekhsaria Foundation. He had a vision of a vibrant India with a strong health sector, well-educated citizens, and ample employment opportunities which he aimed to fulfill through his foundation. In an initiative to promote education, they provide Narotam Sekhsaria Scholarships for higher education in India as well as abroad.

Scholarship Rewards

Narotam Sekhsaria Scholarships are awarded to those scholars who pursue their higher studies in the domains and related fields like Architecture, Applied Sciences, Engineering, Social Sciences, Pure Sciences, Law, Management, and Humanities. This scholarship is given in the form of interest-free loans to scholars with a ceiling amount of Rs 20 lakhs. Along with the scholarship amount, they also offer a mentorship program to the students who receive a scholarship.

The amount is given to students for postgraduate programs in pre-defined installments which are given below:

After 1st year – Nil

After 2nd year – 30% of the total scholarship amount

After 3rd year – 35% of the total scholarship amount

After 4th year – 35% of the total scholarship amount

• First list of shortlisted candidates publishing – April-May
• Interviews – Last week of May
• Final list publishing – June-July

Eligibility Criteria

The primary criteria for this scholarship is to be a meritorious student. Other than that, following is the eligibility criteria for this scholarship:

• The candidate should be an Indian National who lives in India
• The age of the candidate should be less than 30 years as of 31st January of the ongoing year.
• The candidate should be a scholar (either in final year or those who are awaiting for results) of a prestigious Indian university.
• The candidate should be applying to universities in India or abroad in the same season.

Application Process

Follow the steps given below for applying to this scholarship:

Step 1 – Visit their official website i.e. http://pg.nsfoundation.co.in

Step 2 – Get yourself registered on the portal using the registration link. After successful registration, candidates are required to pay an application fee of Rs 500. You can pay the application fee either by issuing a demand draft in favor of Narotam Sekhsaria Foundation or through net banking.

Step 3 – Now, log on to the portal using the credentials provided to you and then complete the application forms.

Step 4 – Then, the authorities at the foundation will shortlist the candidates and release the first list of candidates who have to appear for an interview.

Step 5 – Now, for the interview, you have to visit the office of the foundation.

Documents required for this scholarship

The following documents are required for any candidate who is applying for this scholarship:

• Copies of transcripts and graduation mark sheets of the candidate.
• Acceptance letter of the university where you got admitted.
• Copies of mark sheets of examinations like CAT, GRE, GMAT, etc.
• Document showing most recent income tax returns of guardians or parents.
• Reference/Recommendation Letters.
• Attested copy of the applicant’s passport.
